First Of December
By Chris Standring

"First Of December" is a solo composition and arrangement of mine that was featured in a Mel Bay anthology entitled "2000 Jazz Guitar". The piece is quite taxing for the solo guitarist technically, as there is much emphasis on bar chords across all six strings high up on the neck, with no single note melodies without supporting harmony. However, most of the movement falls nicely under the fingers. You will notice a great deal of chromatic voice leading in this piece. Have fun with it.
